Meloneras Golf is landscape of southern Gran Canaria, having been opened by the Lopesan Hotel and Resort group in 2007. Guests staying in either the Lopesan Costa Meloneras Resort or Lopesan Villa Del Conde Resort will benefit from preferred golf rates.

The Meloneras Golf Course, designed by Ron Kirby from the U.S., has got an extension of 520.000 square metres. It has been configured as a highly technical sports centre making it ideal for the organisation of great international tournaments and championships. Its design allows golf players with different playing levels to enjoy playing a round on it.

The golf course has got four starting tees per hole, making it very attractive for professional players as well as amateurs. Additionally the round starts with a quite easy par 4 that gives the player the possibility to get more security and to make you able to confront the rest of the round successfully.

SERVICES
The most outstanding services offered are a golf school, a club house with a select snack bar and a golf shop as well as putting green, pitching green, driving range and buggies and clubs for rent. MELONERAS GOLF has got golf buggies equipped with GPS being the island's first golf course offering this service. Additionally, persons who wish to start playing golf will have at their disposal, at the end of June, a golf school with the most advanced technology for a more efficient and comfortable learning process.

ENVIRONMENT
This golf course was projected in 1996 and has obtained during the last ten years all necessary building permissions and licenses, such as all the perceptive environmental reports required by law. Initiating this golf course has meant a substantial change for the landscape and so an area formerly without any environmental value has now become a natural environment of great beauty where more than 1.100 palm trees of different species have been planted, being the most important one the so-called phoenix canariensis better known as Canarian palm tree cultivated in nurseries owned by the company.

Meloneras Golf is protected by the trade winds that often sweep along the island’s shores, and its outstanding course will be a certain highlight of any golf holiday in Gran Canaria.
