The course, a 6080 meters links with many water hazards requires much skill in the approach to the greens, the drive is also essential to achieve good results, making the course pleasant especially for skilled golfers. The golf course occupies half of the old marsh offering the birds two different habitats from which to choose. The little creek, with its diversity of vegetation, is very useful to wildlife, while the remains of the dunes are ideal for Plovers and nesting Terns.
Natural species of vegetation attract birds, while exotic growths keep people away, the more indigenous plants there are the more birds there will be. As the trees grow, the terrain will be even more conducive to housing and protecting its colony of birds.
Although there are obvious fluctuations in number and frequency, birds still come to, and occupy Salgados out of loyalty to the place and also because many rare species visited and been persuaded to stick around by the various natural features which the area offers.
The best hours for observing the birds are dawn and dusk. The renovation of the Clubhouse brings a new life to this course.
